They stop at a ball up station and there they bought a loaf of bread for 10 cents scarce it was originally 15 cents. While on the bridle-path in California the grandma becomes sick and dies. They finally initiate somewhere to work and they get to buy a minor shack for 5 cents. To makes things worse for the family this was the time of the drought or the Dust Bowl. The accen ts that they had in this movie were very country and they state words that we probably would non use now. Their clothing was cured and around of the time it was not in the best dispose because of the traveling and working they had to do. The women wore dresses while the men wore pants with hanker sleeves but they were usually rolled up. The men also wore the brimmed hats.
